9,000 babies did not die in Catholic institutions, this is the total figure that includes the secular institutions, chiefly County Homes, where the vast majority of those infants and children died.

257,000 babies died in Ireland during the period covered by the commission of investigation into mother and baby homes. Who killed them? They died of the same diseases and conditions as those in mother and baby homes.

All acute hospitals and maternity units, even today, have mortality rates that are a multiple of the average. Why? Many sick people and sick babies die in hospital. It is the most stupid argument that reveals an ignorance of basic mathematics.

Institutions that cater for poor people have higher mortality rates, and that is reflected the world over even today.

The Irish civil service has people like yourself that want to believe in lies. No babies were sold or trafficked. An official at Galway University Hospital wrote a memo for top management where they claimed that 10,000 babies were trafficked from Tuam to the United States. When the commission interviewed the official, they were stum and told the investigators that they had seen only five records.

You would know that if you had read the report of the commission of investigation into mother and baby homes.

The nun’s had no hand in fostering or adoptions. That was the job of the County Councils.

While the number of deaths might not quite meet the definition of ‘genocide’, the official 2021 Irish government report into these horrific crimes says that about 9000 children died from 1922-1999 (c.5 x the mortality rate that would be expected).

As to the mention of Irish children from Catholic mother & baby institutions being sold to adoptive parents in The US, this too seems to be largely based in reality, as reports of “donations” to the church in exchange for babies date back to at least the 1940s.

It’s interesting to see that your accusations of BB’s “false history” aren’t accompanied by any supporting evidence, but instead you just throw out insults about his intellect & historical accuracy.
